Fire Safety Day
e-mail me

Febuary 1st, 2004 was fire safety day for the Arlington Eagles.
On Febuary 1st, 2004 Fire Truck No. 10 from the Arlington Fire Department came by to teach our Adventurer club about fire safety. Ms Shella ended up trying out the equipment that the firemen have to wear. Would Ms. Shella make a great "Fire Saftey Leader" for our Adventurers club in addition to her skills as song leader?

We learned many important things that day to make us safe from fires. Did you work with your family to find the best escape route out of the house in case of fire?

Did You find out where to meet outside of the house after you escape?

Did you and your family check all of the fire detectors to make sure they work? This is very important and they need to be checked at least 2 times a year.

What else did you learn about that day?

Fire Engine Number 10
We divided the club into 2 groups. Little Lambs, Eager Beavers, and Busy Bees went outside to look at Fire Engine Number 10 first. Sunbeams, Builders and Helping Hands stayed inside to learn about the First Aid kit. Then when everone was ready they switched without a problem ;-)

Ready to Learn 911
The Eager Beavers learned about how to use the phone for calling 911 only for emergencys.

Tip of the Hat!
Many thanks to the Arlington Fire Department for sending out Fire Engine Number 10 and its crew to help our Adventurers learn about Fire Safety.

Also thanks goes to Beth Wetzel for the Fire Safty Day photos. These pages would look blank without them
